Our goal is to produce 100 Padded Hangers for the St. Louis Soldiers Memorial Museum. The hangers are needed to store the hundreds of military uniforms in their care. Help us preserve this history and honor our Veterans!

WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT

On October 14, 2010, the Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall will be in Arnold, MO. The wall will remain here through October 17, 2010. To coincide with this event, on October 4, 2010, the Jefferson County Library-  Arnold Branch will welcome a display from the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum in St. Louis. The display will contain items from each branch of the military. On October 15, 2010, the library's sewing class will learn how to make padded hangers to store some of the hundreds of uniforms at the museum. There will be a presentation by representatives of the museum on this day as well. After the sewing class, any extra materials will also be given to the museum to continue this worthwhile project. Between now and the end of October, our goal is ONE HUNDRED HANGERS FOR HONOR, or at least enough materials for this quantity.

Check back with this blog often to stay informed as plans are completed with definite dates and times! Any plastic hangers (old or new), quilt batting, and 100% cotton muslin you can spare would be appreciated! Please bring these items to the Information Desk at the Arnold Branch of the library at 1701 Missouri State Road, 63010.

Thanks!
Angie L.
