Our goal is to produce 100 Padded Hangers for the St. Louis Soldiers Memorial Museum. The hangers are needed to store the hundreds of military uniforms in their care. Help us preserve this history and honor our Veterans!

The Soldiers Memorial Military Museum

Hello all!
I found these facts regarding the museum especially interesting.
The Memorial and Museum officially opened on Memorial Day, May 30, 1938 and as of today.....it is still not air conditioned! To store the artifacts in a facility that is not climate controlled is a difficult task at best. There are some things in the works to generate funds for air conditioning, as I understand.

Also, the windows in the museum are not UV protected. We all know what kind of damage UV rays can do to textiles. They are working on this issue as well.

We can't save the world all at once....that's why we're making hangers. The hangers will help protect the uniforms in the collection. Wire hangers do permanent damage to fabrics. In St. Louis humidity with no Air conditioning, wire hangers would rust, would they not?

These are details that stood out to me....please visit www.stlsoldiersmemorial.org for more information.
Have a great day!
Angie L.
